As a Seattle-based indie publishing house sharing stories from the American West, Our West Press came to West Finch for branding that felt as far away from “corporate” as possible. I aimed to capture this spirit and the love of the written word through lyrical design, intentional textures, and emotive photography selection, creating a love letter to all things western, soulful, and imperfectly beautiful.
The branding is centered around a minimal, memorable icon—perfect for book spines and title pages. Placing a dot at the bottom adds a rooted, grounded feeling that mirrors the values and heart of Our West Press.
To continue the storytelling narrative, I edited a vintage postcard found in digital library archives and paired it with custom pressed flower art and a slogan mark that nods to an editor’s notes on a manuscript.
