Folklorist and astrophysicist Moiya McTier wrote a book that was both entertaining and educational, published by Grand Central Publishing in 2022. She asked us to bring her vision of the Milky Way to life through illustrations— from a chatty galaxy that was always up to something new, to scientific diagrams, to whimsical illustrations of relevant folklore throughout time and place.

We also designed Moiya’s branding with the intention of being both playful and smart. It features an illustration of her looking up at the stars to add a very personal touch.
